Alba and Gastón

Gastón Fernández (Buenos Aires)

Gastón “Gas” Fernández is a professional dancer and dance instructor, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He specializes in vintage dance styles including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Blues and Tango. As a former gymnast he is known in the swing dance community for his powerful acrobatics and aerials, while his background in Tango gives his swing style drama and strength, grounded in a sensitive connection with his partner. Gastón’s passion for swing has taken him around the world, and he has taught and performed in Argentina, Brazil, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, England and Portugal.
Gastón has been a major proponent of Blues dance in Buenos Aires and is now increasingly in demand to teach Blues internationally. With intense partner connection, Gas fuses Blues with Tango movement, though always striving to stay grounded in the essence of the Blues.

Alba Ypunto (London)

Alba started teaching in Leeds in 2008 (lindy and blues). She was changing passions from belly dancing to the swing era dances (with no time to invest properly and perform in both of them). She has never looked back. Of all the dances, she feels special passion for the blues, because she loves its intensity and freedom of communication. She teaches workshops sporadically in her hometown (Madrid) and regularly in London for Swing Patrol (where she lives). She has been competing for over a year in blues, having different placements (Grenoble 2011/2012, Berlin Blues Explosion 2011, Blues Baby Blues 2010/2011, European Blues Invasion 2012). Alba doesn’t only feel passion for the dance but as well for teaching and spreading it, and would love to share it with whoever is interested!
